FIND HIKING TRAILS IN THE GREAT OUTDOORS
When planning your next great outdoor adventure you may want to consider a destination with great public recreation areas and trails. There are a number of ways to find them. There are over 1,148 trails in all 50 states with the designation of “National Recreation Trail (NRT)”. The trails range in length ranging from less than a mile to 485 miles and available for public use. They are located on federal, state, municipal and privately owned lands.
The National Recreation Trail Program is an organization that supports designated NRTs with information like technical assistance, a newsletter and email alerts.
